Objectives

The main objectives of the Commission are:-

Preparation

Preparation, Finalising and Publishing of Law Lexicon.

Translation

Translating of the Tamil Nadu State Acts, Ordinances and rules made there-under in Tamil.
Translation of Central Acts, Ordinances rules made there-under, Notification and other reports in Tamil.

Reform

To reform such other functions entrusted to the Commission from time to time by the State Government.

Vision

To republish the Acts which are translated and published in Tamil in the year
1976, L.e., Criminal Procedure Code, 1973, Code of Civil Procedure, 1806 and
Indian Penal Code, 1860 and Indian Evidence Act, 1872 with updated
amendments and in clear simple language.

To create a panel with experts who have knowledge of law and fluency in Tamil and publish elaborate Law Lexicon.
Translating all State Acts which are useful for general public.
Translating the Central Acts on priority basis allotted by Union Government.
To translate all important judgments of Supreme Court and High Court in Tamil.
To translate necessary law books in Tamil which are syllabus for Law College students.
